Theme 2022 : “Remain at home amid corona virus, protect mother and infant safe from corona virus”
- It is an initiative of the White Ribbon Alliance India (WRAI).
- The GOI in 2003 declared the national safe motherhood day on April 11 (Birth anniversary of Kasturba Gandhi’s).
- It is observed to enforce that women must have the availability & adequate access to care during pregnancy childbirth & postnatal services.
